Lions Club Excellence Award
This award replaces the former “District Governor’s Points Contest.” The
purpose of the award is to reward overall excellence, to gain more
participation, to make earning the award fairer and to eliminate most of the
administrative burden on the Clubs and on the District Secretary.

during the Lions year 2011– 2012, ending on April 15, 2012:
1. Submit all Monthly Membership Reports on time.
2. Submit monthly Activities Reports or an Annual Activity Report on time.
3. Submit the PU-101 Report by April 15, 2012.
4. Pay International, Multiple District and District dues on time and have
no balance due to Lions Clubs International as of April 15, 2012.
5. The President must attend at least one Zone Meeting and have Club
representation at all Zone Meetings and at the District and State
Conventions.
6. Conduct at least one major Community Service Project and at least one
major Fund Raising Project.
7. Have an active Public Relations Program.
8. Have an active Member Orientation Program.
9. Conduct a Club Self Evaluation.
10. Contribute to at least two of the charities supported by the Lions of
Georgia: the Georgia Light House Foundation, the Georgia Camp for the Blind,
or any of the others listed in the MD-18 Directory.
11. Finish the year with a net increase in membership, or start a new Lions
Club.
Clubs must apply for this Excellence Award to the District Governor by April
30, 2012 to be presented at the MD18 State Convention. This Award is in the
form of a banner patch, with chevrons earned for each subsequent year a Club
earns this award.
