Welcome to the Lions of Georgia District 18-N Website.

Welcome to the Lions of Georgia District 18-N Website. On behalf of all the Lions of District 18-N, thank you for exploring our multi-faceted locale!  We’re sure you will enjoy the many unique features our district is famous for.

District 18 N is known to the world, not just for our fantastic Lions Clubs , but also for the diverse activities, cultural events and Southern hospitality found here.  Extending from the Central Savannah River Area to the eastern lowlands at the Atlantic coast to the Florida border in the south,  to the state’s western fertile farm lands and timber country of south central Georgia, there are places to discover to keep you busy 365 days of the year!

Highlighting our strong and proud military presence is Fort Stewart, the home of the 3rd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army.  Nearby in Savannah is Hunter Army Air Field and a 1 hour drive south will take you to the Kingsland Naval Base, home of a fleet of nuclear submarines.   With no shortage of higher educational institutions, District 18 N is pleased to have Savannah State University, Armstrong-Atlantic State University, Georgia Southern U. and South Georgia College located in our area.  Also well-known and receiving high marks for their film-making and fine arts programs, is Savannah College of Art and Design.  Interested in sports?   We have Class AA  college football teams, the Savannah Sand-Gnats baseball stadium and many local high school teams representing all sports.  If you’re a foodie, be prepared!  Our Southern traditions may entice you to enjoy a Low-Country Boil, various Crawfish and Shrimp festivals, the Vidalia Sweet Onion celebration and Claxton’s famous fruit cakes.   Love those rolling hills of Augusta?  We do, too and that’s why the legendary Bobby Jones built the Augusta National Golf Club where you can enjoy the Masters’ Tournament held the 1st week in April.  Seeking an ocean adventure or an abundance of wildlife to photograph in District 18 N?  A visit to the Golden Isles Barrier Islands of Georgia will bring you to Jekyll Island, Historic Brunswick, where they have the Blessing of the Fleet and the luxurious resorts on St. Simons Island.  If business and commerce are your calling, you can view the 4th largest port in the United States in Garden City.  It is the fastest growing containerized cargo port and is a fascinating view on the Savannah River.  Also, don’t forget about watching planes from Savannah Airport  or checking out Gulfstream’s large facility nearby.  All in all, 18 N has it all!

Our district covers 47 counties, has 68 clubs, 2 Leo Clubs and 1 Branch Club, and over 1,500 Lions.  We are the home district of the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind, located next to beautiful Laura S. Walker State Park just outside the city of Waycross.     We are proud of our southern heritage and our history.  We welcome you to view our white -sand beaches, moss-draped oaks, graceful sea grasses, stately palms and abundant flowering plants   As always, we invite you to experience our gracious hospitality and enjoy the many offerings in our fabulous District!
